5.2 MotorPositioningGuidelines
When settingup theSampleTray and Injection Inlet positions the arrowkeys act as adirectional
input for axismovement (Left /Right arrowkeys forLeft /Rightmovement and theUp /Down
arrowkeys for Front / Rearmovement). Thismovement is achievedwhen the operator
"taps"
or
pushes adirectional arrowkeymomentarily. If themovement is not "fine" enough, the step ratemay
be changed from "Continuous" to "Jog", and thenumber of steps permovementmaybe changed.
To access thismenu, from the "Target CoordinateSetup"menu,move the head to a target and then
press the "Mode" key. The "Select:"menu comes up, fromhere, the type ofmovement, either Jogor
Continuousmaybe set, also thenumber of steps permovement. Changes aremadebypressing the
"Mode" key or the arrow keys. The default step rate is factory set at 10. To exit themenu press the
Stop key.
5.3 TargetCoordinateSetup
Press the "Prog" key and select "CobraSetup." Select the "Configuration"menu line andpress
Enter. Scroll to the "Sample1" line andpressEnter. PressEnter and the syringe armwillmove
slightly to the left andout. The arrowkeys are nowused tomove the syringe armover to the center
of vial #1. Press either theLeft orRight arrowkey tomove the arm to the approximate center
positionof the first rowof vials. Using theUporDown arrowkey, toggle to the "For/Back"menu
line, use theLeft orRight arrows tomove the arm to the approximate center of vial #1. Toggle to
the "Vertical"menu line andwith theRight arrowkey, lower the syringe arm to just above thevial
cap. Install the syringe andmake the final adjustments to theneedleposition.
Theneedlemust be
positioneddown into the vial tonot hit the bottom!.
After the setup is completewrite down the
number coordinates for future use.
Press theEnter key and the armwillmove tohome, toggle to thenextmenu line "Waste", press
Enter. The sameX-Y-Z coordinatesmust nowbe established for theWaste (1&2) and forRinse (1
&2) and for the injection InletsA&B. Theprocedure for these settings is the same as for Sample
#1. Theonlydifference is the inletswill requirea finer adjustment than thevials. Onceall thecoordi-
nateshavebeenestablished install the syringeand recheck the target locations.
6.0 MethodDefinition
6.1 MethodEditing
TheCobraL/S allows 10methods tobe saved into memory. To edit amethod, press the "Prog" key,
select "MethodEdit", enter themethodnumber andpressEnter. Thenextmenuwill allow entry into
the selectedMethod. Press theEnter key and theparameterswill bedisplayed. TheMethodparam-
eterswill then cycle throughwith each touchof theEnter
keyorUp\Down arrow, allowing changes
tobemade. Themethod editingmaybe exited at any timebypressing "Prog" or theHold\Stopkey.
If theEnter keyhasbeenpressedchangeswill automaticallybe saved. If an invalidentry ismade, the
systemwill not save the entry. Refer to the followingparameter list for values for eachparameter.
Theparameter values are inbrackets [xxx].
