2.4 PowerRequirements
TheAutoSampler is anall electric systemwithonlyamaximumof 24VDCpresent in thecabinet .
Nogases or other energy sources are required. The power requirement for the system is an input to
thepower supplyof 100-224volts and a line frequencyof 50 to60Hz.. Make certain the electrical
voltage is a constant sourcewithno severe drops or spikes in the voltage. If the power source is not
certain, install apower conditioner on theelectrical line.
2.5 Interfacing toanAnalyzer
Toproperly interface theAutoSampler to theGC, theGC ready (orAnalyzerReady) signal and the
remote start signalmust be locatedon theGC andorDataCollectionDevice. EachGC is different
and itmaybe necessary to refer to the instrument’smanual, or contact a representative for the correct
locationof the ready and start signals. Connectionpoints ongas chromatographs are unique to each
system, therefore, a speciallywired cable is required. To insure correct operationof the system
follow thewiring schematic suppliedwitheachcable. If aproblemexistspleaseconsult the factory.
TheAutoSamplermay alsobeoperated in theLocalmode if aGC ready signal is not available. The
Localmode allows theAutoSampler to inject a samplebasedon a cycle time settingwithout receiv-
ing a ready signal . SeeMethodParametersSection formoredetails.
The connectionswill be from theAutoSampler’sRemote I/O connector (25PinD), locatedon the
rear of CobraL/S, to the chromatograph’s I/O "D" connector or appropriate terminal block
connector(s).
