To install anarrow-bore capillary column
in theon-column injectionport, connect
the narrow-bore toa5meter length
of .53mmMXTpre-column. The pre-
column isde-activatedMXT tubingbut
there is nophase coatedon the insideof
the tubing likeanormal column, soana-
lytes are not retained.
The narrow-bore column fits inside
the .53 for a lowdead volume connec-
tion. Make the connection leak-tight by
securing the connected columnswitha
1/16” swagelok unionand soft graphite
reducing ferrules.
Then install the .53mmpre-column in the
on-column injector just as if it were
a .53mmanalytical column.
Connect the narrow-bore column to the
detector using the appropriate hard
graphite reducing ferrule.
