7. TheLeadhorizontal tool constructs
thebaseline horizontally for the lead-
ingpeakwhile the trailingpeak’s
baseline stretches from the horizontal
line to thenext valley. Unzoom off of
theChlorobenzene andEthylbenzene
peaks and instead zoom inon theSol-
vent peak, the smaller peak to its
right, and thebaseline. Click on the
Leadhorizontal
integration tool in the
manual integration toolbar and then
click, using the leftmouse button, on
the valley between the solvent peak
and theother smaller peak.
8. TheTrail horizontal integration tool
drops thebaseline horizontally for the
trailingpeakwhile the leadpeak’s
baseline stretches from the horizontal
line to theprevious valley in the chro-
matogram. After selecting the
Trail
horizontal
tool in themanual integra-
tion toolbar clickwith themouse cur-
sor on the valley between the two
zoomed in peaks.
9. The Inhibit tool ends thebaseline after
a valley effectively inhibitinga peak’s
area frombeing countedwith the rest
of the chromatogram. Touse the In-
hibit integration tool select the
Inhibit
tool button from themanual integra-
tion toolbar and click on the valley of
theSolvent peak and the smaller peak
to its right.
