Performing Internal StandardCalibration using
PeakSimple version 3.51
For this example, wewill createa5point
calibration curve for Glycerin using
Butanetriol as the Internal Standard.
Load the level 1 chromatogram into
channel 1. ( File/Open )
Identify theButanetriol Internal Standard
peak by using themouse to point to the
Butanetriol peak. Click on the right
mousebutton, then clickAddCompo-
nent.
Point to theButanetriol peakagain, right
click, then select Edit Component ( you
can just double-click thepeakasa short-
cut ).
Enter theComponent Detailsespecially
note that PeakNumber is2and the In-
ternal Standard is 1000. The Internal
Standard is theamount of Butanetriol
which you know to be in the sample. In
this case it is1000ppm.
Go through the sameprocess forGlyc-
erin. Note that the peak number is 1,
that the Internal Standardbox is left at
0.00, but the Internal StandardPeakbox
is set to2. By entering the2,
PeakSimple knows that peak
number 2 shouldbe the Inter-
nal Standard for this peak
(Glycerin ).
