MultipleGas #3GC configuration
ApplicationExample-2 step process
The oven temperature program is set to
hold the column oven at 40C for 10min-
utes, then ramp at 20 degrees permin-
ute to 200C.
TheEvent table:
1) Auto-zeros the detector signal at
0.00minutes.
2) Makes a sound at zerominutes to
confirm to the operator that the
analysis has begun.
3) ActuatesRelayA ( theStop-FlowSo-
lenoid ) for .2minutes ( 12 sec-
onds ).The purpose of this is to purge
theStop-FlowSolenoid of any air
prior to the analysis.
4) The gas sampling valve ( RelayG )
is actuated at .5minutes and de-
actuated at .8minutes. This results
in the sample being injected onto the
Haysep-D column, which is upstream
at themoment of injection. When the
valve is rotated back to the Load po-
sition at .8minutes theHaysep-D
column becomes the downstream
column and the samplewill not have
had enough time tomake itsway
through so the peakswill elute di-
rectly into theTCD detector without
going through theMoleSieve 13X
column at all. The chromatogram
which resultswill be identical to a
systemwith just aHaysep-D column.
