Since there are four detectors,

Zooming in on theFPD chro-
matogram you can seeHydro-
genSulfide ( H2S ), Carbonyl
Sulfide ( COS ) andDi Methyl
sulfide ( DMS ). TheFPD is
blind to hydrocarbons likeme-
thane.
TheFID part of theFPD/FID
combo detector detectsme-
thane andDMS ( C2H6S ), but
does not detect H2S andCOS
since theFID only detectsmol-
eculeswith carbon-hydrogen
bonds. When theFPD/FID
combo detector is optimized
for best sulfur detection, the
FID sensitivity and range is re-
duced to less that what a nor-
mal FID detector would deliver.
