TheSRI Model 8610CGasChromatograph
( GC ) configured as aMultipleGas#3 plus
Sulfur is designed tomeasureH2, O2, N2,
CO, CO2, H2O, C1 throughC5 hydrocar-
bons and alsoH2S, COS/SO2, and other
sulfurmolecules such asmercaptans, CS2,
DMS, DMDS, Thiophenes andmore in a
single analysis.
TheGC is equippedwith three detectors:
TheThermal ConductivityDetector ( TCD )
measures all non-sulfurmolecules from
500ppm to 100%
TheFID/Methanizer detector ( FID/meth )
measures hydrocarbons plusCO andCO2
from 1ppm to 50,000ppm
TheFlamePhotometric/FID combo detector
( FPD/FID )measures all sulfurmolecules
plus hydrocarbons.
Inside the column oven are three columns.
TheHaysep-D ( HD ) andMoleSieve
(MS13X ) columns together separateH2,
O2, N2, CO, CO2 andC1-C5 hydrocarbons
aswell aswater.
The 60meterMXT1 capillary column sepa-
rates the sulfurmolecules and also hydro-
carbons fromC1-C10
