BasicControl Functionswith theStandard Interface
Basicactuator control functionality facilitatesposition
switching in twopositionmodes,and stepandhome
functions in themulitpositionmode. This isdonevia
direct input signals from switchclosures, relaycontacts,
orTTL-compatible interfaces. Thecontrol cablehas six
pins:however,onlyfiveareused.
If theactuatorhasnoneof theoptional interfaces,
themanual remotemustbeused tochange themode,
directionof rotation,ornumberofpositions. Refer to
“Using theManual Remote toConfigure theActuator”
onpage3.

Twopositionmodes
Pins4and6aredigital inputs for switching to
PositionAandPositionB. Theycanbedriveneither
by5voltTTL/CMOS logicorbycontact closure to
ground (pin2). Inotherwords,applyingaconnec-
tion (20msecminimum)between the“Acontact”and
commonmoves the injector topositionA (inject).
The injectordoesnotmovewhen theconnection is
released. Likewise,providingacontactbetween the
“Bcontact”andcommonmoves the injector to theB
(load)position. Connectionsmustbe releasedbefore
theoppositeclosurecanbeapplied.
Position feedback isobtained from theAandBoutputs.
Theseare5volt tolerant,3.3volt logicoutputs,sourcingand sinkingamaximumof
10milliampereseach. Anoutputwill gohigh (+3.3V)when thevalve reaches the
respectiveposition.

StepCommand
Applyingaconnection (20msecminimum)between the
commonand“Step”pin causes theactuator tomove to the
nextposition in thecurrently-setdirectionof rotation. The
connectionmustbeopenedbeforeanother stepcanbe
made.
HomeCommand
Applyingaconnectionbetween thecommonand“Home”
pins causes theactuator togo to theHOMEposition (position
1),moving in thecurrently-setdirectionof rotation. Thecon-
nectionmustbeopenedbeforeanother stepcanbemade.
