The SRI Method 25 GC system is equippedwith an FID
detector,built-inaircompressorand10-portgassampling
valve to quickly determine methane/nonmethane
hydrocarbons as per EPAMethod 25.
In this typical methane/nonmethane analysis, the
nonmethane hydrocarbons were backlushed after
the ethane peak. Depending upon the operator’s
needs, the valve timing could have been set to
backlush after the methane or after the C

hydrocarbons.
The sample isconnected to the inlet port on theGC,where it ills the1mL sample loopon thegas sampling
valve. The valve is then automatically rotated to inject the sample onto the column, which separates
the methane (and optionally the ethane) away from the rest of the hydrocarbons. After the elution of the
compound(s) of interest, the gas sampling valve is automatically returned to the starting position, which
backlushes the rest of the hydrocarbons into thedetector.
The single channel PeakSimple data system controls the temperature programmable
columnovenand thegassamplingvalve, collects thedata, quantitates thenonmethane
hydrocarbons and produces a printed report. The system comes standard with a
HayeSep-D column, butmay be equippedwithother column types as desired.
