locate thePeak number dialogue box andadd

. Immediately underneath the
Peak number box is thePeak name dialogue
box. In thePeak namedialoguebox input
benzene
to name it. Locate theUnits box and
put
ppm
tomake the units parts permillion.
Locate the In case ofmultiplepeaks options
box and select the radio button for
Show larg-
est peakonly
. Click on
OK
with themouse
cursor to close thewindow.
4. Go to
Edit
in thePeakSimplemenubar and
then
Channels
from the resultingmenu. The
Channel controlswindow is nowopen. Locate
theChannel 2options box and the Integrate
checkbox. Check the
Integrate
checkbox and
then click on
OK
with themouse cursor to
close thewindow. Thepeak in the second
channel shouldnow identify itself as benzene.
5. Locate the large peak to the right of theben-
zene peak in the second channel. Right click
and then select
Add component
to add a re-
tentionwindowbar to the peak. Right click
again and go to
Edit component
to openup
theComponent detailswindow. Change the
Peak number to
2
, thePeak name to
toluene
,
theUnits to
ppm
, and the In case of multiple
peaks options box to
Show largest peak
only
. Click on
OK
with themouse cursor to
exit thewindow.
