Model 8640 20-Vial Integrated Liquid Autosampler
Overview
The SRI Model 8640 20-vial liquid
autosampler is installedon the left-handsideof
the SRI 8610CGC. The 8640 connects to an
additional injectoron the leftsideof thecolumn
oven. Thisadditionalinjectormaybeon-column,
heated,orsplit/splitless. Itusesasample tray to
holdup to twenty2mLvials, asampleprobe to
transferthesamplefromthevialsintothesyringe
barrel,andan injectionmechanism todeliver the
samplefromthesyringebarrel,throughtheneedle,
intotheinjectorintheGCcolumnovenwall. The
8640uses60psiofairornitrogen toactuate its
movingparts. The8640 functionsareassigned
relaysso that theautosamplermaybeoperated
automaticallyusingaPeakSimpleeventtable.
The8640isshippedwith100screw-topvials
andsepta, replacements forwhichareavailable
fromavarietyof suppliers. Extrasample trays
andcooledsampletraysareavailable. Thecooled
sample traysrequireanexternal refrigerated lab
circulator.
