Installation of the Relay Board for the 10 Position Method 5030 Purge &
Trap Autosampler (and other Autosamplers)
Arelayboard isprovidedwith theautosamplerforconnecting it toanSRI8610GC. Thisrelayboardsupplies the
additionalrelaysrequired tooperate theautosampler,andmustbe installed inside theGCby theuser. Therelayboard
comeswith thenecessarywiring,andnosoldering isrequired.
Thefourholes in therightsidepanelof theGCchassis,under the
“RelayFunctions” table, correspondwith the relayboardsecuring
screws. Therelayboard is installedon the insideof thispanel.
1. Remove thesixscrewsholding thebottom
panelontheGCchassis. Supportthepanelwhile
yougentlyrocktheGContoitsback, thenlower
thepanel toyourworkingsurface toaccess the
chassisinterior.
2. Securethefour
aluminumstand-
offs in the relay
boardholes. Use
thefourhex-head
screwsprovided,
and secure the
stand-offs from
theoutsideof the
GCpanel. Insert therelayboard intopositionso that thecomponentsidefacesoutward.
Secureitinplaceonthealuminumstand-offswiththefourphilipsheadscrewsprovided.
3. Connect thegreenandyellowwire to thechassisgroundstudscrewon the left rear
of thechassis interiornear themainpower transformer.
4. Connecteachofthefouryellowwires,differentiated
bycolorstripes, to theappropriateTTLrelayoutputs
on theA/D(Lawson)board. All
eight of the TTL outputs are
identical;useanyavailableones.
Connect theblueandredwire to
theAmpboard12V terminal.
5. Removeoneoftheplastichole
plugsfortheautosamplercontrol
cable. Route the control cable
through the hole, and connect
eachwiretotheappropriaterelay
circuit on the relay board (see
autosampler control cable
labeling).
