PurgeValve is easy tooperate. Simply
installavalvealongtheflowpathwiththe
includedfittingsandattacha luer-tipped
syringe.Then,withdraw theplungerand
watchassolventandresidualbubblesare
removed from thesolvent line.Thevalve
automatically closes when the syringe
is removed.
The valve is designed to be usedwith 1/8”OD tubing. Optional
mounting ismadeeasyby thehandyholes in thebodyof eachunit.

installation, sowear on the internal seal iseliminated.

PTFE seal is included with the
valve. This seal can also be
purchased separately. It can be
used both with the Upchurch
Scientific valve and the original
valve suppliedwith thepump.

Install theLowPressureUniversalPrime/PurgeValvealong the inlet solvent
pathnear thepump to removebubbles from the inlet solvent line.Thevalve
canalsobeused to rapidly“wet”your solvent inletfilter.Whenanewfilter
is installed, itoftencontainsasubstantial amountofairwithin itspores.At
standardflow rates, itmay requireseveralminutesbefore the inletfluid
pathway iscompletely freeofgas.Using thisvalveyouareable to rapidlydraw
solvent through the inletfilter,dislodging thegasandminimizingdowntime.
