Operating theSRI AutomaticCalibrationAccessory
( ACS )
TheACSsystem isbuilt intoan
SRI 8610CGCandallowsauto-
matic calibrationof gas samples
over awide rangeof concentra-
tions ( 10,000 to1 ). It canbe
usedwith thebuilt-inTO14pre-
concentrator or witha simplegas
sampling valveand loop.
TheACS requiresa “zerogas”
anda “calibrationgas” becon-
nected to the labeledbulkhead
fittingson the left sideof theGC.
The “zerogas”will be cleanair or
nitrogen, not helium since the
viscosity of heliumwill alter the
flow rateof the vacuumpumpas
it pulls standard through the
traps. Set thepressureof the
“zerogas” to10psi andusea
short pieceof connecting tubing
from thepressure regulator out-
put. The “zerogas” pressure
regulator is suppliedwith the
ACS system.
Connect the “calibrationgas” at
somesteadypressurebetween
10and50psi. The “ cal gas “ is
re-regulated internally by the
EPC ( electronicpressure regula-
tor ) inside theGCcontrolledby
PeakSimple’s channel 2pressure
program.
