Gas chromatography coupled with MS represents a fast and cheap method for the
separation and identification of compounds from natural product mixtures. Alkylation of
animal fats and vegetable oils for biofuel fabrication is one of the industrial processes that
needs analysis of natural products, both for rawmaterials and for products (Christie, 1989).
