Figure 1depicts performance results from a comparison inwhich a
gas containing17ppbv of hydrogen sulfidewas stored for 7days in
untreated and inSilcoNert 2000 treated stainless steel high pressure
sample cylinders. The results show aSilcoNert 2000 treated sampling
systemwill reliably store low levels of this active sulfur-containing
compound in process streams for longperiods of time. In contrast,
hydrogen sulfide degraded rapidly in the untreated cylinder, andwas
totally adsorbedwithin 24 hours.
Figure 2 summarizes the results of a similar study inwhich gas
containing 18.8ppbvmethyl mercaptanwas stored for 60 hours in
SilcoNert 2000 treated sample cylinders. Again, recovery of
the
active sulfur gaswas accurate at the lowppbv concentration,
confirming that the samplewas stored in contact with an inert surface.
