Position the cylinder so that the
graphite ropedisk is centeredand
theNafionmembrane isalsocen-
tered. Pushdown from the top
andengage twoof thescrews just
until the threads catch.
Thenengage the rest of the8
screws. Tighten themevenly
(working yourwayaround the cir-
cleof screws ) until you feel the
cylinder squishingdownagainst
themembrane.
Torqueeach screw to the same
tightness toavoidputtinganyun-
necessary stresson theglass.
Weusea torquemeasuringscrew-
driver at the factory set to10 ft/lbs
( 1Newton/Meter ).
You canalways tighten the screws
a littlemore if the cell leakswhen
you re-install it in the chassis, so
use less rather thanmore torque
for your initial setting.
