The pumps presented on pages 92–108 require peristaltic tubing
to operate. Flow rate of a given fluid through a peristaltic tubing
pumpdependson two variables:
1. The speedof thepump,measured in revolutionsperminute (rpm)
2. Thevolumeheldwiththe internaldiameter (ID)oftheselectedtubing
VariableSpeedPumpFlowRates
Foravariablespeedpump, suchas theproductsonpages92,93,and
95–104, theflowrateofachannelcanbechangedbyvaryingthepump
rpm, or byusing tubingwithdifferent IDs, or acombinationof both.

Follow these steps to complete your Ismatec

peristaltic tubing
pumporder:
1. Select the pump for your application from pages 92–104,
determinedby the requirementsof your fluiddelivery task(s):
a.
Level of accuracy
b. Fluid streams (#of channels)
c.
Flow rate range(s)
d. Need for constant flow, discretedispensing, or both
e.
Need for variable speed
f.
Need for automation/programmability
2.Note whether the selected pump requires 2-stop, 3-stop, or
standard tubing.
3. Review the tubingproperties tablesonpages62,70,75,and76and
select the tubingmaterial best suited for your application.
4. Reviewthepagethatcontains informationandoptions forthetubing
material youhave selected.
5. Identifythecorrectpartnumber forthetubingyouneed,basedupon
two factors: a) if yourpump requires tubingwith stopsor not, and if
sohowmany; andb) the correct inner diameter andwall thickness
for themodel pumpyouareusing.
6. If required, order extension tubing that corresponds as closely as
possibletothetubingmaterialand IDofyour2-stopor3-stoptubing.
