Upchurch Scientific ® Conical Adapters manufactured by
IDEX Health & Science provide a reliable connection between
rigid/semi-rigid tubing andperistaltic-type flexible tubing, such as
Tygon® and PharMed®. These adapters are composed of a PEEK
polymer femalenut,ourSuperFlangeless™ ferrulesystemandanETFE
or PEEKconical adapter body. Thenarrowconedendof theadapter
body allows peristaltic tubing to slide onmore easily than it does
onto conventional barbed adapters. Peristaltic tubing is alsoeasier
to remove fromour Conical Adapters, sinceno cuttingor excessive
pulling is required.

Theseunique adapters connect peristaltic tubing to standard 1/16”
or 1/8”OD tubing. A specially-designednose allows theperistaltic
tubing to simply press fit over the nose and thenbe held tightly in
place by the retainer sleeve. Your 1/16”OD tubingmay then be
connectedwith theFlangeless Fittings suppliedwith theadapter. To
connect your peristaltic tubing to tubingwith adifferentOD, simply
replace the supplied fittingswith your choiceof Flangeless Fittings
frompage24.
Onepopular application for theseadapters is touse themas“stops”
for your peristaltic pump. By doing so, you can reduce the amount
of peristaltic tubing required for your flowpath, thus reducingcost.
