Thepolypropyleneusedtomanufacturethemajorityof theseproducts
isaClassVImaterial.Due to the lowmeltpointofpolypropylene (PP),
theseadaptersarenotautoclavable,however, theycanbesterilizedvia
gammaradiation.TherearealsoBarbtoFemaleLuer-Lockconnectors
available fromETFE,whichhassuperiorsolventresistanceandahigher
temperature rating (80 ºC).
