4. Insert thecolumnendwith thegraphiteferruleand
Swageloknutabouthalfwayintothemegaboreadapter
and tighten itwith thenutandferrule.
5. After inserting thecolumn into theadapter, insert thecolumnandadapter together into the injectionport.
Tighten theSwageloknutwitha
7/16”wrench. Youshouldfeela
littlegivefrom theferrule,butdo
notovertightenit.Youwantittight
enough toprvent leakage,butdo
notsmash theferrule.
6. Slideanother1/8”Swageloknut and
graphite ferruleover theotherendof the
column. ForaTCDdetector,connect the
nut to thefitting labeled“TCDIN” in the
columnoven.
ForanFIDdetector, leaveabout1”of thecolumn
protruding through thenutand ferrule. Insert the
column into theFIDbulkheadfitting in thecolumn
ovenwalland tighten theSwageloknut.
