3. Themegaboreadapter isa1”x1/8”ODstainlesssteel tubewitha
perpendiculargashcut into it, andaconicalentry toguide thesyringe
needle into thecolumn. A0.53mmcapillarycolumnconnects to theSRI
on-column injectorwithagraphitereducingferruleanda1/8”Swagelok
nut. Insertoneendofthecolumnthroughthenut, thenthroughthegraphiteferrule. Itisagoodideatotrimoff
aboutoneinchofthecolumntoavoidpossiblepeaktailingfromanygraphiteshavingsleftbehindafterinserting
thecolumn through theferrule;makesure thecut isclean,withno jaggededges.
