Removing theECD detector from anSRI 8610CGC
August 2013
Remove the 3 thermo-couplewires.
And the two heater wires.
Disconnect theECDmakeup gas line at the
1/16” brass union fitting.
TheECD can now be removed from theGC
by pulling thewires through the hole in the
chassis.
Note that with the thermo-couple removed
theGCwill not operate since theThermo-
couple out of range alarmwill be triggered.
This stops all heaters in theGC.
If you need to operate theGCwith theECD
removed, connect a typeK thermo-couple
to the screw terminals fromwhich theECD
thermocouplewas removed. This “dummy”
thermocouplewill read the temperature of
the inside of theGC andwill allow normal
operation of theGCwith theECD removed.
DoNOT connect aheater to the circuit
board.
