Both the “HEATCLEANED” only andSilcosteel

treated componentswere attached to an ion pump
system. The systemswas then pumped down to an
initial base pressure. Several variants of coatingwere
studied tounderstand the impact of coating composition
and depth.

resultant pressure increasewas ameasured effect of
materials outgassing from the substrate into the vacuum
environment
