Straight TubeDesign
Themost common liner for split analysis is the straight
linerwithdeactivatedwool, whichoffers the analyst a
wide variety of options. Thewool has a high surface
area formore sample evaporation to occur, andpromotes
a uniformvapor cloud to enter the split point. The
drawback of this design is that thewool increases
breakdownof highly active compounds.Whenusing this
liner, thewool needs to be changed frequently. The
positionof thewool inside the liner and the quantityof
thewool used is critical to reproducibility.
