1. Put thereplacementPEM incleandistilledwater tosoakwhileyou takeapart thegeneratorcell.
2. Remove thegenerator cell from theH

-50XRchassis: unplug the redandblackpower cord from the
chassis,un-clip theblackwire from theground, andunscrew the twoscrews thathold theclampingplate
againstthecell.
3. Loosen theeight screws thathold thewater reservoir
with aphilips head screwdriver. Loosen each screw in
increments; firstone, then theoneopposite,andsoon ina
star-likepattern. Asyouprogress,bemindfulof thespring
inthewaterreservoir;don’tloosenthescrewstoosuddenly,
or itmaypopopen the reservoir, presenting safety and
damagerisks. Youcanfeel thepressureof thespringrelax
asyou loosen thescrewssufficiently;hold the topof the
generatorcell firmlywithonehandwhile loosening the
screwswith theother.
4. Once thescrewsareremoved,carefully take thewater
reservoiroffthebottomofthecellandremovetheoldPEM.
Beverycarefulhandlingandmovingthegraphitecoil,asit
caneasilycomeapart.
5. TakethenewPEMoutofitsbathandpositionitcentrally
within the ringofscrews. Place thewater reservoirback
on thebottom,over thePEM; thePEMshouldprotrude
slightlyonallsidesof thewaterreservoir.
6. OncethePEMisproperlypositioned, tightenthescrews
in incrementsuntil thewaterreservoir issnugagainst the
bottomof thegeneratorcell.
7. Put thegeneratorcellbackon thechassisandsecure itwith theplateand twoscrews. Plug the redand
blackpowercord into thechassis. Clip theblackwireonto theground.

-50XR intoawalloutletandpressurize thegeneratorcell to30psi. Check thebottomof the
waterreservoiraround thePEMformoisture; ifyouseeanyseepage, tighteneachof theeightscrewsa little
more.
