-50XR Hydrogen Generator
NOTE: Use theH
2
-50XRona flat, level surface, away fromopen flameandanyother ignitionor spark
sources.
1. Remove thenutandseptumwith theNafion tubingfrom the“Fill/H
2
OUT”porton the topof thegenerator
cell. Use theprovided20mLplasticsyringe to injectcleanwater into thecell through thisport. Fillonly to
cover theplasticdisk in thebottomof thecell. Thecellwillautomatically fill the restof thewaywhenyou
powerup theH

-50XR. Replace thenutandseptumon the“Fill/H
2
OUT”portand1/4 turnpastfinger tight.
Fill theplasticbottleprovidedySRIwith thesamedistilledwaterused in thecell.
2. Thereare three tubing linesattached to theH
2
-50XR: twoclear, onegreen. Place theendsofall three tubes
into thewaterbottle, through theholesdrilled in the lid. Theendsof the twoclear tubesshouldbesubmerged
in thewater, and thegreenoneshouldhang justabove thewater level.
6. Connect the“H2OUT” fittingon theH

-50XR to theGC’shydrogengas inletwith1/8”or1/16”O.D.
tubing. Now thehydrogengaswillflow into theconnectedGC.
3. Makesure theblackgroundwire isclippedonto theelectrodeprotruding through the topof thegenerator
cell, and that theredandblackpowercord isplugged into theH
2
-50XRchassis. Then,connect theexternal
power supplycord to thegenerator andawall outlet. Make sureyouhave thecorrect input cord for the
voltageyouareusing;SRIprovidesa110VACcord. Thepowersupplycanrunon100-240VAC. Properly
used, the transformer isnotasparksourceandposesno ignition threats.
4. Makesure theH

shut-offvalve isclosed; theback toggleshouldbeswitchedback toward thechassis.
Alwaysbuilduppressure initiallywith the togglevalveshut; itshould take5-15minutes. Thehydrogengas
pressure ispreset to30psi. Once thispressure isattained, the interiorpressureswitchwillshutoff thecurrent
to thegenerator. Theperstalticpumpwillshutoff, andwater in thegeneratorcellshould thenstopbubbling.
5.Waitabout10minutes toensure that the30psipressure ismaintained. Ifpressure isnotbeingmaintained,
there isprobablya leak. Check thedessicantbottle: itshouldbesnugagainst theo-ring. Makesure the“Fill/
