Achieving theBestResults fromGasStandards
Inorder toachieve thebest results fromgas standards, properhandling
and storageof gas solutions isof vital importance. Use the following tips
tohelpensure trouble-freeperformance:
• Beforeopening the sealedampul,warm it to room temperatureand
invert theampul several times. Thiswill redissolveanygases thatmay
havemigrated into theheadspaceof theampul.
• Whendilutingagas standard, alwaysadd it toa solvent. Adding the
gas standard toanemptyvessel prior toadding solventwill result in
the lossof gas compounds.
• Whendilutingagas standard in solvent,make sure thepipetteor
needle tip isdirectlyabove, or immersedbelow, the solvent surface.
• We recommend that anyunusedportionof gas standardbedisposed
of after ithasbeen removed from the sealedampul. If it isnecessary to
store theunusedportion, place it intoa tightlycappedvial and store it
in the freezer.
• We recommend that anygas solutions thathavebeen storedoutside
of a sealedampul bedisposedof after 7days.
