Replacing theTID bead on
SRI 8610C and 310CGCs
Insert the new bead carefully using
a new 1/4” soft graphite ferrule if
the old ferrule has been overtight-
ened.
Re-assemble the detector.
Set the operating voltage to –300
( bead volts ). Sometimes the op-
erating voltagemay have been
raised on the old bead to compen-
sate for reduced sensitivity.
Make sure the collector electrode
is not too close to thebead. The
end of the collector electode
should just be visiblewhen looking
down from the top.
Be sure not to hit the bead
with the column. This can
happen of the column is in-
serted too far.
