Rtx-VMSDesigned for EPAMethod 8260B
TheRtx-VMS column was designed to address the
increasingnumber of analytes listed inEPAMethod
8260B, and also is a good choice for separating
compounds listed inEPAMethod 524.2, revision IV.
Themajor difference between theRtx-VMS phase and
others such as the “624,” “502.2,” and “VRX” is its
overall selectivity and the distance between isomeric
pairs like 2/4-chlorotoluene. A faster final oven ramp
rate is possible because these compounds elute farther
apart on theRtx-VMSphase, preventing a partial
coelutions thatwould interferewithquantitation. Using
theEPA-suggested surrogates the analysis time is under
10minutesmaking this the clear choice for fastGC
applications.
