TheRtx-VRX incorporates a lowpercentage of
pentafluorobenzylpropyl- polysiloxane, whichgives this column
similar characteristics to anRtx-1, only it resolves close eluting
GCpairs such as 2,2-dichloropropane& chloroform. It is
possible todo fast dual purge and trap applications using this
phase as long as the recommendedEPA internal standard,
chlorobenzene-d5 is substitutedwith another compound. As
shown in the direct comparison theRtx-VMSdoes out-perform
theVRX stationaryphase for this application.
