connector allows columns tobe changed
without venting theMS, which can save a day of
downtime. An application specific testwas used to
evaluate the ability of theMS to stabilize after a column
change andwithout venting theMS. Again, purge-and-trap
was usedwith halogenated volatiles. The first
chromatogram (Figure 3)was run using anRtx-624 phase
andwas acquired at 08:12AM. A different columnwas
installed and chromatogram acquired at 09:28AM, with
excellent peak shape and response (Figure 4) . Between
runs the tunewas verified and passed bromofluorobenzene
