• a20°Cminimumoperating
temperature.

-Wax columns aremade
with anewCrossbond
®
polyethylene
glycol (PEG) stationaryphase.This new
innovation inpolymer technologyhas
produced themost inert and efficient
PEGcolumns currentlyavailable. The
extendedoperating temperature range
allows the analysis of compoundswith
awide volatility range,while the
Crossbond
®
technologyensures low
bleed at temperatures as high as 250°C.

of compounds ranging from intermedi-
ate tohighpolarity. This exceptional
inertness andefficiencyallowsversatil-
ity indifficult analyses such as isomeric
separations, aldehydes, and alcohols.
ReducedMinimumOperating
Temperature
ManyPEG columns undergo a solid-
liquidphase transition at temperatures
below40°C that results in a loss of
efficiency, reduced samplecapacity, and
poor retention time reproducibility

operate at 20°Cwithout displaying any
adverse effects. This is especially
advantageous forapplications involving
purge& trap andheadspace analyses
wherevolatile componentsmust be
cold-trappedonto the column. Figures 1
and2demonstrate thedifference in
PEG columnperformance at 20°C.
