Design
ThebasicCheminertdesign involvesa
flat rotorwhich isengravedwith slots
whichconnect theports. A stator is
heldat aconstant,preset forceagainst
the rotor. When repairsare required,
all that isnecessary for rotor access
is the removal of twoor three screws.
Remove theold rotor and replace it,
put the screwsback inand tighten
them,and thevalve is ready foruseat
the factory-setpressure specification.
Noadjustmentsarepossible,much
less required. Other advantagesof the
design includeeasypanelmounting,
lowactuating torque,andcompact
size. Theflatplatedesignoffersflow
paths forbasicflow switching,sample
injection,and stream selectionup
to10positions (26positions in some
models).
