Total Hydrocarbons Using the CCD Detector
1. Connectzerogas tosample inletat10psi. Zerogashasnohydrocarbons.
2. Zero theCCDdetectorsignalusing theAutoZerobuttonfor itschannel (typicallychannel2).
3. Connectcalibrationgasstandard to thesample inletat10psi. Calibrationgas is typically100%methane.
4. TheCCDsignalwillincreaseapproximately300millivoltswhilerunning100%methane.
5. InPeakSimple,open theCCDChannelDetailsdialogboxbyright-clicking in thatchannel’schromato-
gramwindow. Enter thegainfactorwhichwillmultiply the300millivoltsignal toproduce thedesired
concentrationunit. Forexample:
300x .33=100 if thedesiredunit ispercent.
300x3333=1,000,000 if thedesiredunit ispartspermillion
6. Also in theChannelDetailsdialogbox,selectDataLoggermodebyclicking in theappropriate
checkbox. TheCCDsignal times thegainfactorwillbedisplayedon thescreen in largenumbers.
