Integra-Gap™ integrated retention gap
The primary advantage of usingmetalMXT® columns is that they aremore stable at high temperatures than fused silica columns.
Thismeans theywill exhibit lower bleed, improving analytical performance, andhave longer lifetimes,making them a cost-effective
option.Theyalso canbebrought tohigh temperatures (430°C) allowingnonvolatilematerial tobebakedoff of the column, remov-
ing carryover contamination and improving cycle times.
MetalMXT®-Biodiesel TG columns areoffered in the same columndimensions as their fused silica counterparts.Twodifferent col-
umn configurations are available for cool on-column injection: 1) a 10m (or 15m) x 0.32mm IDMXT®-Biodiesel TG column fac-
torycoupled toa2mx0.53mm retentiongapusinganAlumaseal™connector, and2) a14mx0.53mm IDMXT®-BiodieselTGcol-
umnwith a built-in2m x 0.53mm ID Integra-Gap™ integrated retention gap.
Target analytes resolvewell and the solvent and triglyceridepeaks show excellent symmetryonboth columns (Figures 5 and6), but
the0.53mmMXT®-BiodieselTGcolumnwith the Integra-Gap™ integrated retentiongapeliminates theneed foraconnector,mak-
ing connector-related leaks a thingof the past. Peak shape for butanetriol is very good, demonstrating inertness, and the resolution
and response for themono-,di-and triglycerides is excellent.The leak-proof 0.53mmMXT®-BiodieselTGcolumnwith the Integra-
Gap™ integrated retention gap is theultimate biodiesel solution (Figure 7).
