Inorganochlorinepesticide analysis, careful considerationof the instrument set-up and column choice can greatly improve sample
throughput – reducing costs and saving time.Themost critical aspects of the inlet system are inertness and efficiencyof target
analyte transfer to the analytical column. For pesticide andPCB analysiswe recommend theDrilledUniliner® for its unsurpassed
inertness (seepage 5).
In the analysis shown, 20m x0.18mm IDRtx®-CLPesticides andRtx®-CLPesticides2primary and confirmation columnswere
used.We connected a 5m x0.53mm guard column to thedual analytical columns, using a SeCure™“Y”connector kit.These
columns have been specificallydesigned to resolve the chlorinatedpesticideswhenused inparallel under the same temperature
program and inlet backpressure. As shown inFigure 1, all the organochlorinepesticide compounds are baseline resolved in less
than8minutes.
