Drasticallydifferentinappearancefromthefirst, thesecondchromatogramwasproducedwithamake-upgas
flowof10mL/min. In theabsenceofsufficientmake-upgas flow, thechlorinatedpeaksarenegative. Not
everyHIDhas thesameoptimummake-upflow;experimentwithdifferent flowratesuntilyoufind thebest
rangeforyourdetector.
