Ferrules–groovedPEEK
Thesepatented ferrules* featureagrooveddesign thatpermits the ferrule togrip the tube inmultiple
places. Theyworkgreaton tubing that is softer than the ferrulematerial. For example,PEEKgrooved
ferrulesworkwell onPTFEor FEP tubing. Theyarenotgenerally recommended if the tubing is the
samematerial as the ferrule.

forceon the ferrulewithoutwrenches. Hex stylenutsallowwrench tightening;however,since they
arepolymeric, theycanbreakandare recommended foruseonlywhen space is limitedandfingers
won’tfit.
Caution:
PEEKnutsare intended foruseonlywithpolymeric ferrules,which sealwith lower force than
their stainless steel counterparts.Overtighteningcan result inbreakage.

to suchdesigns. Inotherone-piecedesigns, the ferrule rotatesagainst thefittingdetail,creating
particulates. Theno twistdesignhasa separate ferrule that snaps into thenut,so it’sattachedbut still
free toavoid rotationduring tightening.
Since the ferrule isnotmachinedonto thenut, it canbemade fromadifferentmaterial. PEEKnutwith
PEEK ferrule,orPEEKnutwithCTFE ferrule– thepossibilitiesareendless.
