SRI offers a variety of trapping options for preconcentrating or enriching samples for
GC analysis.
for preconcentrating molecules between C
3
and C

for very volatile molecules like ethane and hydrogen sulfide
for gases dissolved in liquid samples
for thermal modulation of gas streams
In terms of flow, the preconcentrator is always upstream of the GC column oven. Traps and valve
ovens are mounted on the left-hand side of the GC. The GC shown at right has a TO-14 Air
Concentrator with a CryoCooled Peltier Trap.
Most of these options employ the versatile 10-port gas sampling valve described on the previous pages. Each valve in
turn requires a heated valve oven. The only exception featured in this section is the Enrichment Coil option, designed for
use on the Model 110 detector chassis or in the GC column oven.
