Abstract
One of themost commonGC testingmethods used by
today’s pharmaceutical laboratories is the analysis of organic
volatile impurities (OVIs) in finished pharmaceutical
products. There aremany challenges inperformingOVI
analyses. Themost commonlyused capillaryGC stationary
phases forOVI analysis of regulated solvents are theG27
(5%diphenyl/95%dimethyl polysiloxane) andG43
(6%cyanopropyl phenyl/94%dimethyl polysiloxane)
columns. However, other stationaryphasesmust be
employeddependingon the specific solvents used in the
manufacturing process of a pharmaceutical compound.
