Conclusions
The unique stationary phase of theUltra IBD column can
retain and resolvemixtures of nucleotides, nucleosides,
andpurine andpyrimidine bases byRPHPLC, using
isocratic elutionwith a simple, volatilemobile phase. A
single set of chromatographic conditionswas identified
which can resolve any of the common purine or pyrimidine
bases from its respective ribonucleoside andmono-, di-,
and triphosphate nucleotides. Futureworkwill focus on
MS detection.
