panelwhen themountingnut is tightened,
eliminating theneed for a lockwasher.

verynarrowareas,and results inaveryeffective
sealwithvirtuallynodistortionof the tubing ID

Compressionfitting
A styleof fitting inwhicha threadednut
compressesa tapered ferruleonto tubingas
thenut is tightened.Valcometal ferrules cut a
ring into the tubingwallwhilepolymer types
relyon surfacecompression to forma seal.

Thevolumebetween twoormoreconnections.
Thismaybecleanly swept, thusnot
contributing topeakdistortion,ormaybe
“deadvolume”suchas that found infittings
