Inadual external sample loopconfiguration,
sample is injected inbothpositions. In
PositionA,Loop2 is loadedwhile themobile
phaseflows throughLoop1andonto the
column. InPositionB, theLoop2 sample is
injected into thecolumnandanother sample
is loaded intoLoop1. When thevalve is
returned toPositionA, theLoop1 sample
is injectedonto thecolumnandLoop2 is
reloaded.
LoopSamplingwithBackflush
toDetector
Onevalve functionsasbotha sampling
andabackflushvalve,simplifying
operationand reducingcost. When
componentsof interest aredetected,
the strongly retainedcomponentsare
backflushedand removed from thecolumn
without temperatureprogramming.
TwoColumnSelection
When twodifferent columnsare required
at frequent intervalsat similaroven
temperatures,a6port valvecanprovide
rapid selectionof theone tobeused. The
columnnot inuse isprotectedbyablanket
of inertmobilephaseandmaybe rapidly
brought toequilibriumwhen required.
Note: If flowmustbemaintained to the
non-selectedcolumn,an8or 10port valve
is required.
