RESTEK’S CHIRAL COLUMNS OFFERUNIQUE
SELECTIVITY

Each of the five chiral columns
posesses a specific combination of
alkyl substituents on the derivatized
β
-cyclodextrins. Theseuniquecombi-
nations provide a wide range of
utilitization for each type of chiral
column. Table I, on page 8, indicates
that certain columns provide better
resolution of specific compounds.

Of thechiral columnsevaluated, only
theRt-

tested compounds, with 19 being
baseline resolved. This column pro-
vides the best enantiomeric separa-
tionof

α

linalool oxides,hexobarbital, andme-

Rt-

DEXse

The Rt-
β
DEXse is similar in perfor-
mance to theRt-
β
DEXsm, but it pro-
vides better resolution for limonene,
linalool, linalyl acetate, ethyl-2-
methylbutyrate, 2,3-butane-diol, and
styrene oxides. Sometimes extensive
separation results inoverlapof enan-
tiomericpairs, asshown in

and 6
.
