– Cyano columns have poorer lifetimes and lowermaximum
operating temperatures
– 5% diphenyl phases do not have the selectivity to accurately
quantitatemost samples
• USEPA requires 2,3,7,8-tcdf tobe confirmedonaX-225
• Desirable to have both columns in the same oven, and
to improve the separation of the “5”, or
employ a single
columnwhich achieves the necessary separation
