PeristalticPumps&Tubing
The pumps presented on pages 94–108 require peristaltic tubing
to operate. Flow rate of a given fluid through a peristaltic tubing
pumpdependson two variables:
1.Thespeedof thepump,measured in revolutionsperminute (rpm)
2.Thevolumeheldwithinthe internaldiameter (ID)oftheselectedtubing
VariableSpeedPumpFlowRates
For a variable speedpump, such as theproducts onpages 93–103,
112–115, and 117–118, the flow rate of a channel can be changed
by varying thepump rpm, or by using tubingwithdifferent IDs, or a
combinationof both.
FixedSpeedPumpFlowRates
Single-channelandmultichannelperistaltictubingpumpsareavailable
in this catalog. The number of channels refers to howmany pieces
of tubing that canbeused simultaneously. Tubingwithdifferent IDs
canbeused ineachchannel todeliver varyingflow ratesat anygiven
pump speed.
