engineering,precisionmachining, and
extremely low internal volume (<2µl),
making them the ideal choice in the
mostdemanding liquidor supercritical
fluidchromatographyor extraction
systems.* Theon/off function is self-
explanatory; inprime/purgemodels,
mobilephaseflowsaround theneedle
when thevalve is closed, relieving
thebackpressure from thecolumn.
When thevalveopens,mobilephase
vents towaste toprime thepump.
Standardmodelsprovide leak-tight
operationup to10,000psi (690bar) at
100°C,withhigh temperatureversions
ratedup to6,000psi/300°C. A1/16"
fittingmodelwitha largerboreand
a1/8"fittingmodel areavailable for
highflowapplications.
Thevalveneedle ismade froma
special high strengthalloywhich is
resistant even to thebuffer saltswhich
might accidentallyprecipitate inside
thevalve. Sealsarefluorocarbon,with
valvebodiesmachined fromHPLC
grade stainless steel,ensuring long
lifetime ineven themostdemanding
situations.
Theon/off andprime/purgevalvesare
available inmanual or air/CO
2
actuated
versions. Theautomatedvalves
requirea single three-way solenoid:
applicationof 50psi opens thevalve;
venting theair allows the spring to
return thevalve to theclosedposition.
