Consists of two magnets, a
drivingmagnet that attaches
to themotor shaftandadriven
magnet that is completely
sealedwithin the pump head
and isconnected to thedriving
gear. The drivenmagnet is a
non-wetted component and is
totallyencapsulated.
The twomagnets coupleautomatically such that thedrivingmagnet
turns thedrivenmagnet andgearswithout physical contact.
Decouplingoccurswhen thepump loadexceeds thecoupling torque
between the twomagnets. This feature can act as a safetydevice to
preventdamage to thepumpandmotoraswell asassociatedpiping.
Themagnets canbe recoupledbybringing themotor toacomplete
stop, eliminating thecauseof thedecouplingand restarting.
